Nautical Almanac first appeared in 1996 as members of the American Tapes/Hanson Records family, altogether with bands like Universal Indians, Wolf Eyes and related projects. Twig and Carly are living in Baltimore, Maryland, in a building called “Tarantula Hill” which is the headquarter of their personal label Heresee, and a sound lab for their projects and collaborations. Their equipment is made of homemade instruments, modified toys, and weird alloys of leather, rubber, wire. In april 2005, Nautical Almanac toured Europe for a month. This cdr, limited to 150 copies, is a clear picture of their sound at the moment of their European tour.
